Prescription Refills for Medication
Prescription refill requests for all medications are best handled during the patient’s office visit. Prescription refill requests outside of an office visit must be submitted through the patient’s portal, require a notice of 5 business days and an ifee may be incurred. Prescription Refills for Behavioral or Mental Health Conditions
Patients taking medication for behavioral or mental health conditions (such as ADHD, anxiety, or mood disorders) must be seen every month until the right medication and dose are established. After that, visits are required at least every three months and prescriptions may cover up to 90 days at a time. More frequent visits are needed if the dose or medication changes, or if side effects occur.
Follow-up visits help monitor response, effectiveness, and side effects, and may coincide with the patient’s annual well visit.
If the patient does not have a Follow My Health portal, please request an invitation to set one up.
